Ρώσοι: Μπορούμε άνετα και από τη Λιβύη να επιβάλουμε Ζώνη Απαγόρευσης Πτήσεων σε όλη την Α. Μεσόγειο

Moscow is setting fire to NATO’s plans in the Mediterranean, while the headquarters of the 6th US Fleet in Italy, the Souda base and the free passage of any Western aircraft in this maritime area are also threatened.

The reason, according to a Russian media outlet, is that “Russia can deploy a strong ‘no-access zone’ in North Africa and, if necessary, ‘close’ the airspace over the central Mediterranean Sea.”

Russia had deployed its military facilities in Libya, while it is concentrating equipment at three air bases in the country by 2024, according to analysis data from satellite images.

The transfer of Russian S-300 “Favorit” and S-400 “Triumph” missile systems opposite Crete completely changes the situation in the region

Moscow had two bases in Syria (one air and one naval) and in Libya it is already involved in three air bases and possibly in the future in another naval base, for the docking of Russian warships of the Mediterranean Fleet, after the complete withdrawal from Syria, whenever this occurs.

According to our article, Russia transferred S-300 “Favorit” and S-400 “Triumph” anti-aircraft missile systems from Syria to Libya, capable of reliably “closing” the airspace within a radius of more than 400 kilometers.

The central and eastern Mediterranean are in Moscow’s plans for control in the confrontation with NATO, while Russian missiles naturally reach Greek airspace.

Russia had deployed its military facilities in Libya, while it is concentrating equipment at three air bases in the country by 2024, according to analysis data from satellite images.

Russian military aircraft continue to land and take off from Brak Al-Sati base, the base in Al-Jufra, and Al-Qardabiya, while supplies continue to be delivered, as Russian military personnel have been preparing the ground for some time with runway renovations and other work for the landing of large transport aircraft II-78 MIDAS.

Russia has specifically subjected the Libyan Al-Qardabiya air base to extensive renovations of the runways, while Moscow specialists are working on its fortification, as well as on strengthening the air defense, as well as at the Al-Jufra base.

Behind it all is money and energy control of Europe.
The Russians are also working to strengthen their relations with Haftar to disrupt European energy supplies and expand their geopolitical influence in North Africa.

Libya could supply Europe with vast quantities of oil and gas if a peace plan and a power-sharing agreement between Haftar in the east and Dbeiba in the west were reached, highlighting the possibility that Moscow could oust Western oil and gas operators, possibly replacing them with its own companies.

If Moscow succeeds in this, it would secure not only the use of Libya’s energy resources, but also access to valuable minerals in the country and sub-Saharan Africa.
